Absinthe spoons are simply used for placing a sugar cube on. Water is then dripped over the sugar cube, falling through the openings on the Absinthe spoon and in to the Absinthe. The spirit has no sugar added to the bottle and in order to soften this strong spirit, sugar is added just before drinking
